Depeche Mode 8.3.2009
Last night Jeremy took me to see Depeche Mode at MSG. The show was incredible. Our seats were on the side of the stage, but we were able to see better than I have ever been able to see at MSG. I didn't know all their songs, I didn't even know half of what they played, but the energy of the packed arena was incredible!

Wedding Wine Menu & Tasting Notes

Today I picked up the wine for the wedding. They are all Italian, 2 whites, 2 reds and a sparkling brut for celebration! I have created a wine menu for guests, along with tasting notes... I know that if I was confronted with these wines, I wouldn't know what to do... so the notes should help a lot!
Tasca d’Almerita
Regaleali Nero d'Avola IGT Sicilia 2007
Bright ruby red color, this wine offers a rich bouquet of cherry, mulberry, and raspberry. On the palate, it is complex and supple, with ripe berries framed by juicy tannins.
Argiolas
Perdera IGT Isola dei Nuraghi 2008
The intense ruby red color of this wine is typical of the Monica grape. Persistent aromas of ripened cherry, cassis, and black pepper carry through to the palate, and are followed by hints of chocolate and firm tannins. Very vibrant, rich and rustic.
Argiolas
Costamolino Vermentino di Sardegna DOC 2008
Straw yellow in color with green highlights and an intense yet delicate bouquet that displays distinct characteristics of the variety. Supple aromas of citrus, pineapple, tropical fruits and honey are wonderfully supported by a zesty acidity. Delicate and pleasantly refreshing on the palate.
Zenato
Pinot Grigio delle Venezie IGT 2008
Straw yellow in color with greenish highlights, and a delicate bouquet. This is a wine to be enjoyed young when one can best appreciate its zesty fruitiness. Refreshing and soft with a smooth, dry finish.
Zardetto
Private Cuvée Sparkling Brut
Brilliant straw-yellow in color, enhanced by the perlage. The fruity flavors of pears, apples and peaches dissolve into floral notes, with a hint of citrus fruit and an aromatic quality that is fresh and rich in sensations.

Invites Ready to Mail

The wedding is in 6 weeks. Last night Cheryl and Cecilia helped me put the finishing touches on the invitations. I am so excited to mail them and even more excited to get the rsvps back! I don't know where I got the idea to use a million stamps on each invite, but I really like the way it turned out. I bought the invites from Michael's and printed them... the only problem is that the box contains exactly the amount I needed, some of the invites or responses printed crooked, now I don't have enough of all the parts to complete the task. I will have to get creative....

Couldn't Keep It to Myself . . .
Couldn't Keep It to Myself: Wally Lamb and the Women of York Correctional Institution by Wally LambMy review
rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book was excellent. I was hesitant in the beginning because, although it was a "Wally Lamb Book" it wasn't actually written by Wally Lamb. By the end of the book I wished there was a sequel to Couldn't Keep it to Myself so I could continue reading for a long time. The women pour out their souls and expose their most intimate feelings and I felt so fortunate to be reading it. I am connected with these women and because of that I feel the need to write to them in prison and express my gratitude for them voicing their story. I laughed once during the book my eyes welled up numerous times and I felt a sick helpless feeling in my stomach through most of it. Emotionally captivating!

It's Wedding Invitation Time!

Today I took on the scary task of wording and printing the invitations. I had purchased the Chocolate Pocket Invite Kit by Brides Magazine. It is a diy wedding invite kit and to my surprise was very easy to do. I have all my invitations and rsvp cards printed and now I am almost ready to start mailing. The wedding countdown is at 70 days, oooh. Things are getting exciting!
