Isabelle's Pizza

While browsing the internet (one of my hobbies) I stumbled upon the great idea of making play food out of felt. First, I must mention that lately I have been on an unusual creative spree... making curtains, knitting, attempting to crochet, and now... felt food. I immediately realized that I needed a reason to make this play food and I thought of my soon to be niece, Isabelle. Her birthday is coming up and I thought this would be awesome. I had already made a shopping list in my head of all the great stuff I was going to make before I e-mailed Leah (Isabelle's mommy) to make sure this is something she would enjoy, a hamburger, pizza, salad, bag of chips, eggs with bacon, maybe pancakes, and of course cookies... a lot of cookies. I never thought what I would have done if Leah said, "She already has a ton" or "absolutely not, she has a felt phobia" (which would not be odd to me since I despise the feeling of cotton balls so if someone offered to make me play food out of cotton balls I would answer "No way.") Regardless, she said that Isabelle would love it and that was that. I hit the craft store that day after work. Above you can see my pizza that I just finished today. It was Jeremy's idea to get a mini pizza box and personalize it for her. The pizza includes a crust, tomato sauce, fresh buffalo mozzarella slices, pepperoni and mushrooms. Originally I wasn't going to make all the pieces separate but I think Isabelle will enjoy her pizza more if she is able to customize it depending on her mood. Jeremy helped me a lot with the toppings and methods for constructing each piece. Next, I am going to finish the cookies I started the other day, keep posted for more.
